VPP™ Rear Suspension

The VPP™ system can be optimized for each bike to always achieve the perfect balance between drivetrain efficiency and rear suspension performance. This means that if it says "VPP™," you can be sure that the rear suspension has been precisely optimized for the intended use of the bike. The VPP system features a one-piece rear triangle that eliminates pivot points on the stays, resulting in an incredibly stiff frame for precise control and superior performance.

Impressive rear suspension performance

Compared to the previous Hightower, we've significantly reduced the anti-squat value in the first 40% of the travel. This noticeably improves the rear suspension's responsiveness both on climbs and descents, thanks to the decoupling of the drivetrain. The rear suspension's leverage curve is relatively linear and develops a slight progression towards the end of the travel. This improves performance on hard impacts and provides consistent support.

29-inch wheels

The lower rolling resistance and the superior handling of the 29-inch wheels inspire confidence and help the rider to efficiently cover ground.

C and CC Carbon Frames

Santa Cruz offers two carbon fiber grades – the top-of-the-line CC Carbon and the slightly more budget-friendly C Carbon. The CC frame, which we offer in our top models and as a frame kit, is slightly lighter but identically stiff and strong to the C frame.
