Dropout assembly instructions
Please follow these assembly instructions before your first ride to ensure a correct fit and maximum safety:
Compatibility: RS 181.1 Spectre Edition & RS 181.2 Plaid Edition
Dropout bolts (chainring type): tightening torque 12–15 Nm
Post-mount brake adapter screws: tightening torque 8 Nm
Threadlocker: Use blue Loctite 242 for all screw connections.
Dropout options
All RS 181 frame sizes feature interchangeable dropouts – a system we've been using on our World Cup DH bikes since 2022. It allows for fine-tuning of the chainstay length and switching between 27.5″ and 29″ rear wheels.
Available configurations:
27.5″ rear wheel: 435 mm, 440 mm, 445 mm, 450 mm, 455 mm, 460 mm
29″ rear wheel: 450 mm, 455 mm, 460 mm, 465 mm
Additional mud-free access:
– at 27.5″ with 450 mm – 460 mm
– at 29″ with 455 mm – 465 mm

Each frame is shipped with the recommended dropout length and wheel configuration for the respective frame size. Additional dropout options are available separately in the aftermarket.
