The Highball is Santa Cruz's flagship carbon hardtail and a cross-country racehorse with surprising versatility.
The Highball is more capable than a pure marathon hardtail and more balanced than most XC race machines. It was designed for long, tough races and tours. To achieve this, we not only improved the carbon layup process but also optimized the frame's architecture. Built around a 27.2mm seatpost, with slacker seat stays and the elimination of a connecting strut, we achieve plenty of vertical flex with high torsional stiffness. This allows for efficient power transfer with maximum comfort. The result is a bike that's incredibly fast yet still delivers genuine riding enjoyment. With capacity for three bottle cages and the ever-reliable threaded bottom bracket, the Highball is a bike with virtually unlimited range.
